Dear Colleague,

I am contacting you to let you know about a new draft standard, CSA Z317.12 Cleaning and Disinfection of Health Care Facilities, being developed by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Technical Sub-committee on Cleaning and Disinfection of Health Care Facilities.

This new draft standard is intended to address cleaning and disinfection of health care facilities (as defined by CSA Z8000-18) that provide inpatient or outpatient services. It includes cleaning of HCFs using both manual disinfection practices and automated disinfection systems and applies to all personnel that perform cleaning and disinfection functions.

The draft is now available for a 60-day Public Review ending on AUGUST 21, 2019 at the following link: https://publicreview.csa.ca/Home/Details/3487. A one-time registration is required if you have not been to the site before.

Tip: Please note that the online draft cannot be printed, so feel free to open the site in two or more windows so you can look at different sections of the draft at the same time. Multiple computer screens are also an asset.
